"July has been a very busy month for the Delicious Alchemy team so far. Not only did the world’s greatest cycling race, the Tour de France, pass through Sheffield but we also spent three days exhibiting at Olympia for the Allergy and Free From Show 2014.
It was fantastic to meet so many gluten free foodies as well as see some familiar faces and we were thrilled to have lots of happy customers trying our products at the stand. The samples were flowing but it was definitely our gluten and dairy free brownies that stole the show, with one person buying 12 bags!
It’s the first time since our recent relaunch that we have been able to showcase our new branding and product range and from the feedback we've received, it seems to have hit the spot! We truly valued having the time to talk with so many people living on not just a gluten free diet, but a variety of diets and sharing stories on the challenges it can bring, but we’re hopeful that our products are going to be a welcome treat.
We were lucky enough to have a slot on the Sainsbury’s Free From Cooking Zone to demonstrate our baking skills with a gluten and dairy free raspberry and almond cake with oaty streusel topping. This recipe uses our oats two ways, grounding them into flour for the cake base and using some of our rolled oats straight from the pack within the topping. It was a crowd pleaser with lots of great feedback from the audience and in case you missed it, you can find the recipe here. It’s one of our favorites because it's so versatile and can easily be adapted. For example, substituting the tart raspberries and delicately sweet almonds for apple and cinnamon spice, the perfect winter warmer.
